School Trips

At Stourport we have a long and proud history of enhancing our curriculum by providing the opportunity for students to take part in Educational Visits. These have varied, over the years, from short visits to local places of interest, cultural events, sports fixtures and professional sporting events to longer residential visits both in the UK and abroad. For example, in the last six years we have regularly organised visits to places such as Paris, Barcelona, Iceland and to the Alps for skiing. In 2022-23 staff generously gave up their time to organise over 65 visits involving 1600 students and we expect this pattern to continue into the future.

Information about visits is always emailed to parents of the students invited and there will often also be announcements on social media. If any payment is needed this will always be done via ParentPay; please make sure you have your login information for this, as some visits are very popular and may be organised on a “first come first served” basis. When a trip does involve a payment, some financial support is available for students in receipt of free school meals. It may also be available for those in receipt of Pupil Premium on request. Please see the email about the trip for more information about this.

Please bear in mind that a great deal of organisation is needed for these events. If you want your child to take part in a visit, you can help us out a great deal by meeting the deadlines outlined in the letter for payment, return of paperwork and so on. If you do not meet these deadlines, your child may not be able to participate. Of course, if there is any difficulty with meeting any deadline, please do not hesitate to contact us as early as possible so that we can try to support you.

If your child is invited on a trip and you have questions, it is always best to contact the Party Leader direct by email or via the school office. If you have more general questions about visits as a whole, please contact Sue Laffey, the Educational Visits Coordinator: slaffey@shs.saet.co.uk
