One of the fundamental components of providing a positive learning environment is to offer a well thought through approach to catering. The nutritional needs of young minds is at the centre of what we offer our students with balanced meals and snacks that are low in fat, salt and sugar available at every break time.
We know that “a little and often” is a good guideline for nutrition, so we provide breaks throughout the day when students can choose whether to take their main meal, to take a snack or just have a drink and go to the loo. We also have good facilities for students who prefer to bring their own packed lunches.
We encourage independence and recognise individual tastes so also provide self serve pasta, salad and wrap bars. We also operate a cashless payment system where each child is allocated an account that they can charge with credit at the beginning of the week. Students that receive free school meals have their accounts automatically credited ensuring their privacy. If you would like to confidentially discuss the provision of free school meals for your child, please contact the main school office.
Typically, children spend between £2.00 – £2.50 per day and parents may obtain a print out of their child’s account purchases if they wish. Please contact the school office to arrange this.
